The Little Tikes “Cozy Coupe,” made in Hudson, is now part of the Western Reserve Historical Society’s Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum.

The Cozy Coupe, a plastic cherry-red sports car with a yellow roof, was first sold in 1979 and this is its 30th anniversary.

It allows toddlers to sit on a bench-style seat and poke their legs through to the ground. When they start walking, the car begins to go.

It took its place next to historically significant automobiles at the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum.

The museum was presented with one of the first Cozy Coupes to come off the production line in 1979. Before moving to Hudson, Little Tikes was based in Macedonia.

The auto museum also runs a Macedonia Preservation Facility where the vehicles that are oversized or not currently on display are stored.

Little Tikes says it has sold more than 10 million Cozy Coupes in its 30-year history.

10 million Cozy Coupes is a staggering number, even over 30 years! I’m guessing some real car manufacturers wouldn’t be too disappointed with those numbers – though not the big boys. I like the inflatable version – not seen that before.
